About Kait


Kait is a child and adolescent therapist that works as a mental health counselor at University of Rochester Medical Center’s Pediatric Behavioral Health and Wellness. Kait is a recent graduate from the University of Rochester’s Community Mental Health Counseling Program. Kait is passionate about work that positively contributes to the well-being and mental health of those within her community, especially traumatized and abused children and adolescents.

Kait is interested in clinical work that emphasizes client-centered and psychodynamic approaches that utilize TF-CBT, attachment theory, infant mental health, and especially play therapy. Kait presented her graduate thesis, “Best Practices for Community-Based Play Therapy,” at multiple conferences in New York state and has attended a multitude of play therapy trainings, including “Play Therapy for Grieving Children,” “Trauma Informed Sandtray Therapy,”  and”Play Therapy to Heal from Trauma.” Kait is credentialed as a Child-Centered Play Therapist and is working towards the credentials of Registered Play Therapist, Licensed Mental Health Counselor, and Nationally Certified Counselor. Kait hopes to work towards her credentials as a Child-Centered Play Therapist Supervisor and Registered Play Therapist Supervisor in addition to attending graduate school to work towards her doctorate in Counseling and Human Development.
